Music - Write task

My favourite latest album I have listened to is by Billie Eilish, "When we all fall asleep, where do we go?" I like it because there are 14 songs, they all are different and they each have their own special meaning.

Climate change - Opinion piece

In the early 1800’s pollution started. Factories were being built and rubbish was being made. Back then no one thought of it as a big thing, but now it is. We are getting closer to death because of climate change, pollution and more.

In 1907, plastic was created. Even then no one cared. The years went by and plastic had gotten more and more popular. Soon, nearly everywhere you looked there was plastic; Drink bottles, plastic bags, food packaging, pens.

Another problem is wood, we are cutting down so many trees, to make so many unnecessary things. I find it sad because nature gives us something and we destroy it. We become so selfish. Sadly, animals are dying out because WE are destroying their homes. Imagine if you were an animal living happily but then humans come along and ruin your home so you have nowhere to go.

Antarctica is melting, that means penguins, seals, nematodes, tardigrades and mites are dying out. If Antarctica melts then pretty much humans will die too. If Antarctica does melt then the sea level will rise and the ocean temperature will get warmer. This is bad because it will kill the sea life. The ocean temperature has risen approximately 0.13°C per decade over the last 100 years.





Scientists have said if we don't do something about all these problems human civilisation will crumble in 2050. Maybe this is a mistake, I don't know but I’m starting to believe it’s true. We are ruining our earth, and this needs to change.

How can we stop this issue or decrease the chance of our world being ruined?

1. Ban plastic.


2. Recycle.


3. Use a different kind of material for things.


4. Make something else for packaging.


5. Only use a fair amount of wood, make sure not too much wood is used.

Opinion Piece - Corona virus

A Opinion piece is where you choose or get given a topic and write your opinion about it.

For my opinion piece writing I chose Corona virus.

Corona virus started to be small, but soon it turned into a big thing. In China it started. Quickly, only in a few months it has gone world wide. Fortunately, Corona virus has not yet come to New Zealand. I think it will eventually come to NZ though because it is already in Australia. Corona virus is air born, so it has travelled 4,641 miles. Sadly, there is no cure for Corona yet and more than 80,000 people have been infected and 2,700 people have died world wide.

I feel so sorry for the families who have been infected and have to watch their kids, mums, dad and more get more and more sick. Hopefully, someone can find a cure soon.
